Pastor Gary & Cheryl Anderson first came to Foresthill in 1971 just a few years after graduating from Bethany College to Pastor the Foresthill Community Church meeting in the old Community Hall located next to the Forest House. The church body had begun the process of becoming affiliated with the Assemblies of God and Pastor Anderson, an ordained A/G minister, completed the process several months later. The church had also started a building fund and desired to find their own property and build a church. In the next several years, property was donated, a church was built and the congregation relocated to their current location at Foresthill Rd. & Timberland and changed their name to Canyon View Assembly of God. After 22 years, Pastor Anderson felt his time in Foresthill was completed, resigned from the church and moved "off the hill", never expecting to return. However, 9 yrs. later after a brief sabbatical in Lodi and then serving on staff at Trinity Life Center in Sacramento, the Lord and the church called him back in 2002. He has been happily pastoring his beloved and growing flock since. Besides his pastoral ministries at CVA, Pastor Gary is also known as Chaplain Gary as he volunteers with the Placer County Law Enforcement Chaplaincy (PLEC). He receives many calls to minister to the Law Enforcement Personnel and families of crisis situations. "It gives me a chance to get out of the church walls and out to the community where I have the opportunity to minister to those I would not otherwise come in contact with." Cheryl's ministry is primarily administrative as she helps facilitate the Pastors' visions and ministry through her work in the church office and behind the scenes. Pastor Gary & Cheryl are blessed with two great sons, Marc & Brian, who are married to two wonderfulladies, Coleena & Althea, and have four awesome grandchildren, Darrick, Mackenzie, Kaeli and Caleb. For relaxation Pastor Gary loves to go down to the river, enjoy God's beautiful country while gold panning or sluicing at his favorite sand bar..."parsonsbar".

Pastor Marc was just 2 yrs. old when his parents moved to Foresthill to pastor Foresthill Community church, now Canyon View Assembly.He lived and grew up in Foresthill, attending Foresthill Elementary School and Placer High. He enjoyed all Foreshill has to offer, including the great outdoors, swimming, Foresthill Little League and Scout Troop #26, earning the rank of Eagle. He felt a call to become a minister at a very young age and told his Kindergarten teacher when asked what he would be when he grew up..."a preacher like my dad".
God confirmed that call on several occasions and he subsequently graduated from Bethany College (Bethany University) with a B.A. in church Leadership. He then served in youth ministry at Trinity Life Center in Sacramento and then Harvest Time A/B in Brentwood before answering the call in December 2004 to come to Canyon View Assembly as Youth Pastor.
Marc met Coleena, who was living in Grass Valley, while still in Brentwood and married her in May of 2005.Coleena ministers with Marc to the youth as well as leading the driven Youth Band and Sunday /Worship team. They are blessed with three children...Mackenzie, Kaeli and Caleb.
